Tactica at the Geminis!

So Tactica went to the Geminis in Toronto this week. We were nominated for “Best Cross-Platform: Non-fiction” for One Ocean, a transmedia project we created with Winnipeg’s Merit Motion Pictures & CBC The Nature of Things with David Suzuki.

We were worried it was going to be a white table cloth, chicken breast in aspic kind of thing, but the reception at the Guvernment was more like a well-catered after party. Fanciness level: totally appropriate.

Our category was won by another CBC project, Kraft Hockeyville. This project brings $100,000 in arena upgrades and a smorgasbord of other hockey-related goodies to deserving Canadian towns. Congrats to CBC and digital media studio Indusblu.

One Ocean is also up for a Canadian New Media Award, TBA December 1st—with our partners CBC, MMP and Complex Games— in the “Best Web-Based Game” category. Good vibes appreciated.

We saw lots of other groovy interactivity, design, and game-related stuff in TO & will be sharing some of that with you soon!
